Kent City PTCO to Launch Scrip for Trips Program

The Kent City PTCO in in the final planning stages for the launch of a new Scrip for Trips program. The program will allow families to purchase gift cards at face value for popular merchants. A percentage of the face value of the cards will be credited to the program. Half of that credit will be used to fund a field trips for all Kent City Schools students. The other half will be credited to the families account for use at the families discretion on school-related costs.

Basic information about the program will be sent home with elementary students on Thursday, March 29. Information is also being shared with Middle and High School students on that day.

Additional information will be communicated at the launch of the program. The most current information will be found on the PTCO website in the Scrip section.


iPod Touch Donated to Spelling Bee

The PTCO donated an i-pod touch as the grand prize in the spelling bee.

The winner was 5th grader, Nathan VanderWest!
Second place was 3rd grader, Jenna Lee!
Third place was 5th grader, Matthew Johnson!

The Kent City Parent Teacher Community Organization (PTCO) will sponsor a scholarship to a graduating senior that demonstrates meaningful service in his/her community and/or any outreach. One of the PTCO’s objectives is to enhance the educational opportunities for the students of Kent City Schools.

The PTCO is now accepting applications for the 2012 PTCO Scholarship.
