“I am the coach of the Kent City HS Forensics Team. My students compete in events like storytelling, poetry recitation, informative speeches, oratory, dramatic interpretation, broadcasting, and sales. We have three meets: Feb 2, Feb 16, and March 2. I need judges to attend these meets with us. The bus leaves Kent City High School at 2:05 pm so that we can arrive at the host schools by 3:05 pm. There are 3 rounds to judge, so you will be finished by 7:00 pm or so. We will give you the criteria to judge each event. Most inexperienced judges feel nervous at first, but get the hang of it quickly. You just provide students with a little written feedback and constructive criticism to help them improve their performances. Please let me know if you would be willing to help these talented students! Thanks!” — Stacy Brown email@example.com
The Carnival Committee is seeking help to work in the kiddie prize room during the annual community carnival on March 19th. The carnival runs from 5:30-9, but volunteers may take shorter shifts. Please contact Jessica McKinley with questions or to volunteer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Each spring the PTCO gives a scholarship to two graduating Kent City High School seniors. To raise money for these scholarships, the PTCO sells brownie sundaes (complete with hot fudge and/caramel, whipped topping, and sprinkles) at Home Varsity Basketball games. If you are interested in volunteering at any of the games to sell sundaes, please contact Paula Maloney (email@example.com). Thank you!
The first Secondary Spotlight (Principals/Parent meetings) for Middle School and High School parents this school year is coming soon. On Monday 10/7/13 at 7pm in the High School Media Center (Library), you will have the opportunity to meet, talk with, and ask questions of your child’s principal(s). These meetings will take place several times during the school year and will be posted on the “Upcoming Events” page for the Middle School and High School at www.kentcityschools.org.
