Meeting Minutes

Motion to approve June 2014 meeting minutes, Val, Paula 2nd

Fundraisers: had no response from either Bob VanEck or Andrea Klotz to invitation to attend meeting to discuss Entertainment Book and Walkathon.

The class of 2018 advisors (Chad Kik, Chad Dailey, Jeff Wilson) would like to promote Scrip as a way to make money for class expenses i.e.: senior bash, prom, etc.

Mary and Jessica will be meeting with Will and Pam (EL) on August 15th and Bill Crane (MS/HS) on August 22nd to discuss fundraising for the 2014-15 school year.  Things to discuss with them include Santa Shop, Scrip flyers, representation at open houses, popcorn sales, and potential Roller Fox, Papa P’s, and Galaxy Pizza fundraisers.

Val would like to have a list of upcoming expenditures and expenses available to those who are interested.

Mary will email PTCO members for volunteers to staff our table at the open houses.  She will also look into printing a large poster for open houses..  Mandi to shop for round and rectangular red table cloths and get flyer ready for open houses.  Val will make copies of the flyer.  Flyer also needs to be put on website under “Parent Communications.”

There are 4 home varsity football games this year.  We will be selling sno-cones at each game.  Mandi to email to find at least three volunteers for each game.

Fall Festival and Powder Puff football games will be on September 13.  We tentatively want to have parade representation and sell sno-cones at the game, but will have to see if we have enough volunteers whose participation won’t depend on the Rocket Football schedule for that day.

Weekly email will resume the second week of August.  Included in first email needs to be requests for sno-cone volunteers and parade participation, and open house reminders.

Open discussion:  Rhonda thought we need to have a staff promotion of Scrip, maybe from Oct 15-Nov 15.  NHS advisor is interested in having high school members provide child care for monthly PTCO meetings, in effort to increase meeting attendance.  A suggestion was made to have the Friday Scrip sales more noticeable in the cafeteria.

Our monthly meeting schedule for the 2014-15 school year will be the 4th Monday of the month at 6:30 pm in the administration building.  We will also try to have consistent brainstorming meetings on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 10 am at the elementary school.

Our last summer meeting will be on August 19th at 6:30 in Leaver Park.
